Yes. The Community edition is open source and includes the interactive graph, Git YAML workflow, wiki reader, MCP server, and AI YAML generator.
Does Navo require Backstage?+
No. Navo is a focused architecture browser. It does not require Backstage, a plugin ecosystem, or a platform team to operate.
Is Git always the source of truth?+
Yes. Architecture maps live in Git. Elasticsearch and browser annotations are optional overlays — never the canonical store.
Can Navo be self-hosted?+
Yes. Deploy the static SPA with Docker/nginx, Kubernetes, or any static host. Enterprise adds a self-hosted server for SSO, RBAC, and audit controls.
How are editors and viewers counted?+
Viewers can browse maps without a seat. Editors are people who change architecture YAML or shared overlays. Team pricing is per editor per month.
Is Elasticsearch required?+
No. Elasticsearch is an optional secondary index for search. Git YAML remains the system of record.
Can Navo run inside a private network?+
Yes. Navo is designed for internal architecture maps behind VPN or private DNS. No public cloud dependency is required.
Does Navo support SSO and RBAC?+
SSO is available on Team. Full RBAC, audit logs, and enterprise controls ship with the Enterprise plan.
